Full description
Cartagena and the Colombian coast have a rich culture of culinary traditions. From the fish soup “Sancocho de pescado” to the sweet coconut rice in a spiced sweet sauce called “Posta Negra Cartagenera”.
Cartagena and Colombia are famous for their fried finger foods of a great variety called Fritos. You cannot leave Cartagena without knowing the difference between Arepa con huevo, Carimañola, and Empanada.
It is no secret that Cartageneros have a sweet tooth. Learn about the city’s own soft drink. With its unique flavor, the famous Kola Roman is also one of the world’s oldest soft drinks.
El portal de los dulces will give you an introduction to all that is sweet and delicious. That is a whole street full of traditional sweets and desserts. Dulces de Coco, Panela y Leche… that translates to candy made of Coco, Panela (unrefined whole cane sugar), and milk.
We strongly recommend starting this tour on an empty stomach. You don’t want to miss out on any of these taste experiences.

We did the city tour, ceviche tour ,and rum tasting tour. We had a great experience. Our guides were knowledgeable and accommodating. We had to make some date changes after booking and they were prompt and careful about the changes. Clementine was our guide for the ceviche tour and she took us to some very interesting places and has a very fun and engaging personality. The rum tour was really fun. Abraham the owner introduced us to some amazing drinks and technics. His passion really showed through and we felt very much at home.

My husband and I opted for the private Taste and eat Cartagena tour and it was well worth it. I definitely recommend going on an empty stomach as you are eating through out the tour. The first thing we ate were Arepas, which I fell in love with and are very filling, all the food we ate was amazing. Make sure to wear your walking (not expensive or white) shoes if you’re going to be visiting the Bazurto market. We tasted some very exotic fruits that we never knew existed and authentic Cartagena dishes (already forgot the names). Martin was very informative and friendly.
