“Martin is amazing! He is the owner. His English is impeccable, he is friendly, on time, and proud of his country. His father was a tour guide and still works for him so Martin has it in his blood. He will respond to emails very fast. We had to rearrange a tour because we got the arrival date wrong. He was super understanding. The prices are extremely reasonable for all Martin does. The price includes admission to all sites, water, and lunch with beach tour. Having Martin you do not have to wait in line and he handles all tickets for each place.
He can customize a tour for you and is very flexible if you need to change plans. We did the Walled City and Boca Grande Tour for our first day. He will pick you up with a driver at our hotel. You will see La Popa Monastery with the best view of the city, Fort San Felipe, the new part of the city Boca Grande, Mango Island, and walk the Walled City. Everywhere you visit Martin will explain the history. He also is great at answering questions about history, culture, places to visit or eat.
Our second tour was to La Playa Blanca. It was about a 40 minute drive to the beach from the Walled City. Martin pick us up at the hotel and we drove through the industrial part if the city. He is such a great driver I fell asleep in the car. It is a good idea for your first time to have a tour guide because it is hard to find your way to the beach. He arranged a typical Colombian meal for us. My husband had fried red snapper, salad, fried plantains. I am a vegetarian so Martin arranged array of salads, coconut rice, and fresh fruit. This is a gorgeous beach you have to go. I accidentally left my camera in his car and before I could contact him he had already returned my camera.
Thank you for a wonderful time Martin! I am sorry this did not get posted sooner. I am not sure why that happened. See you again.”

“A group of 8 from California hired Martin to give us the Cartagena tour. Contact was immediate and it was very easy to make the reservation and deposit online.
Martin picked us up at our hotel in a super comfortable air conditioned bus at exactly the time he said he would. He took us all over the city to the must see places where he gave us incredible information and fun facts. His driver and him even stopped at unscheduled places so we would make the most of our time. They were really accommodating. The restaurant of Cartagena cuisine suggestion was incredible. We only have positive things to say. Thank you so much Martin, we had a great time in your beautiful city.”

“We visited the beautiful city of Cartagena in September. In advance of our arrival I reviewed the options for tour guides on TripAdvisor. Based on my research and how quickly Martin responded to my initial enquiry I decided to have Martin and his group show us around. We arranged to have him pick us up at the airport and take us to a grocery store and then to the condo where we were staying. Martin and his driver waited patiently at the airport as our flight was late arriving. Immediately we felt very comfortable with Martin. The next day he and his driver took us to the walled city, where despite the tremendous heat, we had a memorable day visiting the beautiful old city. Air conditioning in his bus and plenty of water was a requirement for that day. Martin’s command of the English language and knowledge of the history, politics, architecture and religion was exactly what I anticipated when we hired him. On the Monday we had arranged with him to go to the Rosario Islands. We were unable to go as the government cancelled any boat tours because of the international meeting with President Santos and the leader of Farc to sign the peace treaty to end 50 + years of civil war. I am very interested in the politics of where I visit. Martin was most forthcoming explaining the political history of Colombia. His 2 explanations of the significance of the colours of the flag is something you need to ask him. Despite the last minute cancellation of the Rosario’s I asked Martin if he could arrange another activity. He arranged to have one of his drivers take us to the beautiful beaches of Playa Blanca. His driver stayed with us for the entire day and returned us to the condo. The next day we went to the Rosario’s where we spent the day in this beautiful tropical paradise. Our son and girlfriend were very comfortable enjoying the night life in the old city. Martin had pointed out the best night life spots. I could go on and on about everything that he did to make us want to return to this great historical city. My wife and I and our son and his girlfriend would have no hesitation in recommending Martin Rosales and his group to guide, entertain and learn why this is a Unesco world heritage site.
With great sincerity”
